Calling All Maine Franchise Owners The Maine House Vote is Today!

March 31, 2014 By admin

callingall1The time for action has come. The Maine Small Business Investment Protection Act (LD1458) is scheduled to be voted on by the Maine House of Representatives this morning!

We support the Minority Report, Senator Patrick’s amendment to LD1458 to strengthen franchising, not harm or limit it.  We all make our living in franchising; damaging it would diminish the value of our investments.  However, we see an industry that has tilted out of balance.

It is important that you call and leave a message to your Representative Today!

Call 857-264-3998, get the representative name and phone number for where you live and where you own and operate shops. Then  call that Representative and leave a message that you support LD 1458.

We feel strongly we can get something done here. We can’t do it without your support!

You need to step up and tell the legislators of Maine that this bill is seeking to protect and defend the investment and equity you have developed in Maine.

Please don’t hesitate to call me if you have any comments, questions and suggestions, or if you request any special considerations. I am here to help you get the message you want to get out to the legislators that are considering protective measures to defend your hard earned equity.

Respectfully,

Jim Coen

We thank @sencortezmasto for introducing #S2383, #SmallBusinessAdministrationFranchiseLoanTransparencyAct2019, which would require #transparency in earnings disclosures to protect the best interests of #franchisee owners seeking #SBA guaranteed loans.

Thank you, Keith Miller, for sharing your experience & the challenges you face as a franchise owner. Small business owners form the backbone of our nation’s economy, and we need to do more to protect them from predatory practices
